About Mrs. Underwood

I am a 2008 graduate of South Davidson High School. I continued my education at UNCG earning a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in Psychology in 2012. I have also added a Gifted and Talented K-12 Licensure through High Point University. Before returning to my hometown, I spent my first five years teaching at Southwood Elementary. I have been teaching 5th grade here at DES for the past six years. Here at Denton we are departmentalized, meaning we all teach our speciality. My specialty is mathematics. I love teaching and talking about numbers, fractions and decimals! It's a true pleasure to be able to continue to give back to this treasure of a small town.

 

When I'm not teaching, you can usually find me wrapped up in family adventures. Family is incredibly important to us. I am married, with two little girls who keep me on my toes. Life is just better with children around!
