About Mrs. Fine

I was raised in Denton and attended Denton Elementary as a child.  After attending South Davidson Middle and High school, I obtained my Bachelors in Elementary Education from Appalachian State University.  I was very fortunate to get hired at Southmont Elementary to finish out a school year for a third grade teacher.  I spent 6 years at Southmont where I educated children in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade.  

 

I was hired at Denton in 2018 and spent one year teaching 3rd grade.  The media specialist position had remained vacant that year.  I knew that the schoolwide leadership role and getting to teach all children in the school was a perfect fit for me.  I applied and moved into the media coordinator role for the 2019-20 school year. I simultaneously started classes at Appalachian State University to become licensed as a School Librarian.  I graduated from Appalachian State University with my Masters in Library Science in May 2022.  

 

I am passionate about helping children learn how to think, locate relevant resources, and develop a love of reading.  Being a school librarian and media coordinator is a very fulfilling role to have.
