Teacher of the Year
Our Teacher of the Year is Mrs. Callie Jernigan. Mrs. Jernigan has taught many years at Denton Elementary. She just made the hard jump from teaching 1st grade to 4th grade during the 24-25 year and did so with a great attitude and perseverance. She is a very nurturing educator and takes her student's whole well-being into consideration when educating them. It is not uncommon for students of all ages to continue to want to come back by her classroom because of the impact that she had on their lives.
Support Staff of the Year
Our 2024-25 Support Staff of the year Misty Elkins. Ms. Elkins is both a Teacher Assistant and Bus Driver for Denton. Throughout her day she is constantly making connections with students both in her assigned classrooms and beyond. She is a true support for all of the teachers and students that she comes in contact with. Ms. Elkins also advocates for what she believes the students, teachers, and school needs as a whole. Thank you Ms. Elkins for your hard work and being an irreplaceable part of our staff.
