Professional Background
Welcome to Ms. Walton's Class!
Thank you for visiting our class webpage! Before you venture further, I want to provide a little background about my educational experiences. I attended Appalachian State University and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro where I received my Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education. My concentration was in English/Language Arts. I graduated from college in December of 2002.
After graduation, I spent my first five years of my educational career at Fair Grove Elementary School teaching fourth grade. As much as I loved my time there, I was ready to come back to my hometown of Denton! I have now taught 4th grade, 5th grade, a 4/5 combination class, a 2/3 combination class, and now am a 2nd grade teacher. This will be my 16th year at Denton Elementary. That gives you a grand total of 21 years in education. I love my job and consider it a passion rather than a profession. My goal is to provide your children with the best possible education and grow them as learners each day!
