Meet Mrs.Foster

Greetings! My name is Shandi Foster and I am the EC PreK Teacher at Denton Elementary School. I have worked with young children most of my life as a Girl Scouts Troop Leader, Pediatric healthcare provider, and preschool teacher. Prior to coming to Denton Elementary, I have worked with preschool aged children in blended needs classrooms preparing them for Kindergarten in NC PreK. I have an Associate's in Medical Assisting which I utilized for several years in Pediatrics, falling in love with aspects of child development. I have a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, a Post Baccalaureate in Birth through Kindergarten licensure, and a Master of Education in Early Childhood Education. Education and child development is my passion and I am so excited to work with your children!

 

In my personal life, I live at home with my husband and two teenagers. We love animals and have several pets consisting of dogs and cats, with the occasional beetle colony. I love science and nature, and spend most of my free time studying insects and arachnids, kayaking, and hiking. I am a houseplant hobbyist and a motorcycle rider as of the Summer of 2023. I love to share my interests in the classroom and hope to have the opportunity to share your family's interests as well!
